5 Things You Should Add To Your Daily Routine For A Productive Day

Mornings tend to go crazy. You press the snooze button on your alarm, and now you’re late for work. You started out your day with a lazy surf on social media catching up with what happened the day before, and now you can’t stop refreshing your timeline.

It’s easy for your day to be hijacked starting when you get out of bed. That’s why it’s essential to have a routine.

Every successful person will tell you that their morning routine is a core part of their day. In carefully curating a morning routine, they intentionally take charge of the rest of the day by controlling what happens at the start.

Don’t have a morning routine? Or perhaps, you’re trying to create one? This article is for you.

Leave Your Bed Immediately You Wake Up

Starting the day with the right mindset is crucial. And it begins by not hitting the snooze button or laying in bed for another few minutes after you wake.

If you dally in bed after your alarm goes off, you set a tone of procrastination from the start. Actions beget more actions, and once you’ve set the ball rolling, it’s difficult to stop. For the rest of the day, you’ll struggle with procrastinating tasks or not giving them your best.

Books about procrastination say: once your alarm rings and you’re awake, get up!

Make Your Bed

After getting up, make your bed. This completes the first accomplishment of the day. Once you’ve completed this first one, you’ve set the ball rolling and given momentum to your day.

Making your bed also has the bonus of ensuring you don’t go right back to bed.

Meditate, or Pray

In a good selfgrowthplan, time must be set aside to meditate or pray if you’re religious. The ten to twenty minutes spent doing this improves your mood, prepares you for the ups and downs of the day, reassures you, and keeps you focused.

If you’re new to meditation, you should start small and stay consistent to see results.

Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Don’t just down a cup of coffee or tea and call it a day. A good, healthy, filling breakfast powers you for the day. You’ll be able to work longer without getting distracted by hunger or tiredness. A proper breakfast also boosts your mind so you can make good decisions.

A typical healthy breakfast should contain the primary staple from the four-hour body diet, which is protein. Fibre and vegetables can also be a part of it.

Some healthy food includes oats, avocado toast, fruit parfait, etc.

Set a Daily Goal

Each day should have a purpose. This goal could be a part of a larger plan or a batch of activities or tasks you have to complete. Whichever it is, outlining and acknowledging this goal puts you in the right attitude of mind to tackle them.

Write a to-do list and check them off as the day progresses.

Routines are hard to build and even harder to follow. Still, if you stick to it regardless, you’ll find yourself more confident and happy.
