Kevin Hart: Bio, Age, Profession

Kevin Hart is a man of many talents and a very well known star in the United States and around the world. Here is an in-depth overview of who Kevin Hart is, how he has become one of the biggest comedians in the world, and how he built a successful career in television and film:

Early life

Kevin Darnell Hart was born in July 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. He did not have the easiest start in life and faced family difficulties surrounding his father’s addiction issues and jail time. He was raised by his mother, who he describes in his comedy routines as a loving but intimidating parent.

Hart practiced comedy routines as a child and lists Chris Tucker and J.B. Smoove as his early influences in life.

Following his graduation from high school, Hart attended the Community College of Philadelphia for some time before leaving to move to New York City. He later began work as a shoe salesperson in Massachusetts.

It was then that he began to take his comedy from a hobby to a career and spent time performing as often as he could in clubs. However it wasn’t always plain sailing, at his first performance at The Laff House (under the name Lil Kev) in Philadelphia, he received a very mediocre response from his audience.

Interests and personal life

Kevin has a number of hobbies and interests outside his career, with poker being one of them. Many are surprised to learn that the star plays poker at a professional level and has taken part in major tournaments.

At the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2014, he cashed in at $4,783. In 2017, he became a brand ambassador for the brand PokerStars and in 2020 he took home $47,828 dollars through his participation in live tournaments.

Kevin also has an interest in healthy foods and maintaining a health focused lifestyle. In August last year opened a vegetarian restaurant named Hart House in Los Angeles, California. The restaurant serves healthy meat alternatives such as faux chicken and vegetable based burgers.

The star has also shared that he is a Christian and talks often about his faith in interviews.

Kevin Hart has been married twice, firstly to comedian Torrie Hart between 2003 and 2011. He then got married to model and actress Eniko Parrish in 2016 in California. He has two children with Torrie, a son and daughter, as well as a son and daughter with Eniko.

In 2019, Kevin was involved in a car accident with a friend in California. Both were injured with Kevin requiring surgery on his back and a period of recovery at a rehabilitation center.
