What Is the Process to Get an IBPS Clerk Admit Card?

IBPS or Indian Banking Personnel Selection is the official body for conducting all examinations related to the public banking sector. It is an autonomous body under the Reserve Bank of India, Central Financial Institutions, and Public Sector Banks.

The body is responsible for the conduct of examination for various posts in all Government Sector banks, Rural banks, and Public Sector Undertakings of non-financial sectors. Other than these, there are other Government Departments, State-run companies, and Corporations that utilize the services of IBPS.

  • Prelims Examination
  • Mains Examination

Important Dates

The candidates are scrutinized at every phase of the exam. Over 10 lakh candidates apply for the exam every year. However, only 7 lakh people attend the exam. As a result, 3 in every 1000 candidates are selected. The official notification release date was September 1, 2020. The vacancies announced for the Clerical post was 2557. Prelims exam dates are 5th, 12th, and 19th of December 2020. The date for the mains exam is January 24, 2021.

The Steps for Downloading the Admit Card

  • Visit the official website of IBPS.
  • Click the link for download of the admit card.
  • Enter relevant details like registration no, date of birth, and captcha code.
  • Your Admit Card would appear on the screen.
  • Click on the download link after confirming all personal details.
  • Your admit card is available for print. Take a copy and keep it in safe custody for future reference.

Details on IBPS Admit Card

There are various details available on IBPS Clerk Admit Card. All aspiring candidates must be aware of the details. The admit card is the most critical document required to be carried for the examination as it bears your name, date of birth, and photograph for verification purposes. The officials will check the mentioned details before the entry of the examination. 

The admit card also contains vital information like registration and venue of the examination, and the reporting time. You must report well before the mentioned time. It has a space provided for the signature and thumb impression. All the candidates are advised not to miss the signature and thumb impression. Documents Required In Addition to Admit Card

The admit card is not the only document required for participating in the examination. You may produce some other personal identification documents along with the admit card as per the guidelines issued by IPBS for the exam’s conduct. The photo identity card should be authentic and recognized by any institution.

For example, you can submit your Aadhar Card, Voter’s Card, Driving License, PAN Card, or passport. Apart from the documents mentioned above, other documents can serve as a valid identity card like a college/ university identity card or a photo identity proof furnished by a gazetted officer. The candidate must have a photocopy of the valid identity card for reference.

Prohibited Items

There are various prohibited items that are not allowed inside the venue and premises. The usage of mobile phones, calculators, and digital watches are strictly not allowed inside the venue. Any candidate found to have any of the forbidden items commits an offense that the authorities may deal with severely.


IBPS is conducting this examination for the first time post the outbreak of COVID-19. The candidates must bear a few things in mind regarding the exam. The candidates must report well before time to avoid any last-minute rush for the exam. In the present situation of social distancing, we must refrain from crowding. Sanitizer, face mask, and hand gloves are compulsory for all candidates.

Any individual having temperatures above the standard criteria will be barred from entering the examination hall. All candidates having smartphones must install the Aarogya Setu App and display their risk factors at the entrance. You must submit mobile phones at the designated spot before entering the examination hall after switching off. Individuals not owning a smartphone must carry a signed declaration as described on the official website.
